Minutes
of the Prior Meeting:

with some spelling corrections and the addition of Park District
Director Gary Schiefer as present. Gerry Jackson moved approval.
Marge Hough seconded. All ayes. Motion passed.
Treasurer's
Report
In the absence of Treasurer Joan Dudas, Pres. Bakas reviewed the
March 31, 2005 Balance Sheet and Income and Expense Statement.
Motion: Gerry Jackson moved to approve expenditures in the amount of
$24,932.13. Linda Gilbert seconded. All ayes. Motion passed.
Management Report
Several calls were discussed. Management will attempt to adjust the
angle of the new light on the north sign; and otherwise will call the
electrician to do so.
A number of calls have been received concerning major ruts created
when ComEd drove on wet soil straddling the trail behind three
Woodglenn lots (209-211) to access a transformer. After being
contacted by management, ComEd has engaged a landscaper to restore the
area. That work is still in progress, and management is monitoring
it. Management will also inspect ruts behind a Bloomfield lot.
Past due accounts now number 22. Liens on unpaid accounts will be
filed as appropriate.
Artist Jan Marino has completed her work on Green Trails’ entry into
the Lisle Area Chamber of Commerce “Benches of Lisle” art project.
The Board discussed a location to display the bench and decided to
place it in the broad common area along Green Trails Drive west of New
Albany Road where it would have dual functionality, good visibility,
yet not be too close to the road.
Maintenance Committee tagged trees to be moved from our nursery to
marked locations along College Road. Contractor G. Moore moved 25
evergreen trees yesterday. Management will send letters to bordering
property owners asking their assistance in keeping them watered
throughout the season.
Committee Reports
No reports from Finance, Parks, and Nominating Committees.
Maintenance Committee
Maintenance Committee (MC) met on 4/9/05 and tackled an extensive
agenda. Chairman Les Lavin reported that they reviewed and approved
areas for this year’s trail replacement, sealcoating, and crackfill.
They are designating an area along Green Trails-Golfview (behind
WGL088-096) for experimental grind and overlay. This will be similar
to the pilot program last year, but with different equipment.
MC considered a request from Falduto’s Lawn Maintenance to trim up
some trees and for a price increase due to escalating fuel cost. MC
recommended a one-time fuel allowance adjustment of $1,826.98, which
represents 2% of the current contract. MC also recommended trimming
the trees in question, and management will contact Steve Piper & Sons
for the work.
Motion: Tom Maslanka moved to approve one-time fuel allowance
adjustment of $1,826.98 for Falduto. Gerry Jackson seconded. All
ayes. Motion passed.
For GTIA nursery grove, MC scheduled a clean-up workday on 4/16 and
seedling planting on 4/23. We shall be adding some mulch this year as
well. Round-Up spraying will begin when the weather gets warmer, as
needed in the tree nursery and around common area trees along roads.
MC notes that the area at the NE corner of Green Trails Drive and
College is in need of a phased refurbishing of the landscape
screening. MC recommends that Greg Moore provide some ideas.
Island maintenance will be done this year, only needing to be
scheduled.
Regarding standing water on the trail behind HF1067, a MC member will
shoot the grade. A solution may involve raising the trail in that
area.
John Charicki observed that someone has loosened/removed screws from
the benches in the gazebo. Les Lavin agreed to replace them. Rob
Getz volunteered to check into the cost of peel and stick numbers
that could be applied to light poles.
Communications
Committee
Chairperson Marge Hough announced that our Pathfinder editor Karen
Post will be moving out of Illinois. The committee will meet to
update the editor’s job description and Pathfinder guidelines, and
discuss filling the vacancy.
Adjournment
Motion: With business completed, Marge Hough motioned to adjourn.
Rob Getz seconded. All ayes.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 p.m.
Respectfully
Submitted,
