District, the EPA did not feel …”

of $26,603.31. Tom Maslanka seconded. All ayes. Motion passed.
Treasurer's
Report
Joe Masek reviewed the May 31,
2003 Balance Sheet and Income and Expense Statement.
Telephone Log
Several calls were discussed.
Regarding trimming along the golf course fence, Joan Dudas cautioned that
some adjacent homeowners like the privacy afforded by the vegetation growing
there. However, there is a need to trim back growth that encroaches on the
trail or creates a hazard. Management will contact Seven Bridges to see if
they will trim it. Alternatively, management will contact community service
volunteers to see if they are interested. A poison ivy patch in Heritage
Farms Park between the pond and golf course fence was brought to the
attention of Park Commissioners present.
Tom Maslanka suggested that the Pathfinder run the
location and hours of the Household Hazardous Waste collection site, now
that residents are cleaning out their garages. This information is
available on the Village’s website.
Management
Report
Regarding trail encroachment in
the Heritage Farms area, we cannot complete the formal easement until the
trail is moved next year and surveyed, as a basis for a legal description.
In the meantime, the Board instructed the attorney to draw up a plain
English “agreement to agree” in the form of a letter to be signed by both
parties.
Lisle Balloon Skies project: our three artistic balloons are located as
follows: “Dream Flight” in the accent area on Lexington; “The World” in the
Tyrnbury island; and “Springtime in Green Trails” at the intersection of
Abbeywood and Trinity. Photos of the balloon sculptures will be placed on
the website.
RE: relocating light pole #362 closer to the trail,
management has received a quote in the amount of $1700 from electrician Ron
Burnett to move it to the position that Maintenance Committee recommended.
Burnett suggested moving it to another location at a cost of $650.
Board
Motion: Lloyd Hendrickson moved to leave the pole where it is.
Joe Masek seconded. 6 ayes; 5 nays. Motion passed.
After meeting with the Village’s
engineer, Joanne Broda reported on the relief sewer project. Remaining
issues for GTIA include improving the grading in the retention area, moving
the trail around a manhole north of Green Trails Drive, and trail
replacement in several areas. After discussing several options, the Board
agreed to pursue monetary compensation for the trail replacement as our
first choice. Second choice is to have the contractor replace the trail in
the Promenades, replace trail around the manhole, and overlay the trail
along College Road. Management should budget for the trail replacements and
for landscape clean-up in the adjacent area in next year’s budget.
A decision about concrete work
in the area of the gazebo is deferred until next month in hopes of obtaining
additional quotations. Only one has been received so far.
Extension of trail in the
area of HF2022 presents some drainage issues. Maintenance Committee
requested hiring a professional to draw a plan to carry water from the area
to Sleepy Hollow Lane.
Board
Motion: Joan Dudas motioned to engage Greg Sagan for a drainage
plan. Gerry Jackson seconded. All ayes. Motion carried. Old
Business/New Business
Jonni
Miklos-Finch attended Lisle Citizens Police Academy and found it to be a
very positive and informative experience. She will write an article for the
Pathfinder prior to the next session they offer.
Adjournment
Board
Motion: With business completed, Marge Hough motioned to
adjourn. Jeff Quasney seconded. All ayes.
Reminder: While Kennedy Junior High is under renovation, July and August
GTIA meetings will be held at Lisle Park District Community Center on Short
Street.
The
meeting was adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
Respectfully
Submitted,
