of the Green Trails Improvement Association
Board of Directors Meeting
Tuesday December 11, 2007
President,Peter Bakas called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM at
Kennedy Jr High School. Board members present: Peter Bakas, Pat
Coughlin-Schillo, Rodd Elges, Rob Getz, Marg Hough, Julie LaFond, Les
Lavin, Gail Robinson. Board members excused: Joan Dudas, Linda
Gilbert, Gerry Jackson, Terri Kolman. Management: Joanne Broda. Paula
Gleason was Recording Secretary. A quorum was present.
Election of Officers
Directors re-elected to their areas were welcomed back: Rob Getz, Area
A; Les Lavin, Area E; Rodd Elges, Area L; and Peter Bakas, Area N.
There were no candidates for Areas B, F or O, however, the Board
appointed Betty Long to represent Area B, John Charicki to represent
Area F and Craig Donofrio to represent Area O; each for a one-year
term.
Board Motion: Les Lavin motioned to nominate Peter Bakas as Board
President, Marge Hough seconded; Peter Bakas motioned to nominate Les
Lavin as Vice President, Marge Hough seconded; Marge Hough motioned to
nominate John Charicki as Board Treasurer, Rodd Elges seconded; Marge
Hough motioned to nominate Gail Robinson as Board Secretary, Rodd
Elges seconded, all motions were passed by a unanimous voice vote.

Forum
None.
Minutes
of the Prior Meeting:
Minutes of the prior meeting were reviewed.
Board Motion: Julie LaFond moved to approve the minutes of the
November meeting, Pat Coughlin-Schillo seconded. The motion was
passed by unanimous voice vote.
Treasurer's
Report
The Board reviewed the written November Balance Sheet and Income and
Expense Statement.
Board Motion: Marge Hough motioned to accept the revised check
register expenditures of $8,410.58 for December, Gail Robinson
seconded. The motion was passed by unanimous voice vote.
Management Report
Telephone log line items were reviewed.
Management noted that there have been no new sales since September in
the College Green apartment-condo conversion.
Management reported that there were no new sales in November in the
Torrey Pines conversion.
Management thanked the volunteers who helped put up GTIA holiday
decorations on November 23rd, at the five entrance signs.
Management noted that Winters Nursery replaced the pines on College
Road that did not survive the November ‘06 planting.
Management stated that $33,915 in 2008 assessments have been collected
to date.
Management distributed copies of the approved 2008 budget to be
included in Director’s binders.
Management provided a list of November 2007 newcomers. Board
Directors are encouraged to call on newcomers in their respective
areas.
Finance Committee
No report.
Maintenance Committee
No report.
Communications Committee
Board members suggested that an article about the current prevalence
of coyotes and foxes in the Green Trails area might be pertinent.
Parks
Committee
Betty Long submitted a written synopsis of the November Lisle Park
District Board meeting that she attended. Tom Maslanka is scheduled
to attend the next meeting on Tuesday, December 18th; however, if he
is unable to attend, Rodd Elges volunteered to attend the December
meeting.
Nominating Committee
Prior to the election of officers, Rob Getz submitted brief bios of
several individuals to be considered for appointment to vacant Board
positions.

None.
Board Member Area Reports
None.
Adjournment
Board Motion: There being no further business, Marge Hough motioned to
adjourn the meeting, Julie LaFond seconded. The motion was passed by
a unanimous voice vote; the meeting was adjourned at 8:05 p.m.
